There are several Japaneese titles for PS2 that are not available on any other console, I am in the fortunate position of not liking them much (and I have tried several including "Katamari Damacy") so they don't figure in my lists ;-)
Combat flight sims will always be best played on a PC, a gamepad is just not designed for it. The Gran Turismo series (the first two) are excellent but are not PS2 games. GT3 and GT Concept were both a little disapointing when compared to the first 2. GT4 looks like being an improvement but fortunately it will have a peer in Forza Motorsport, which should kick it's ass hopefully. The Final Fantasy series and RPG's are not really my thing so I am not qualified to argue with you on these subjects. The Resident Evil series are available on GameCube..... Xbox exclusives (besides halo 2, as requested) include.... Halo ;-) Jet Set Radio Future Project Gotham Racing Project Gotham Racing 2 Ninja Gaiden Fable Ralysport Challenge 2 Top Spin OutRun 2 Starwars KOTOR Starwars KOTOR 2 And those are just off the top of my head, I am sure there are many more in the area of games that are "Not My Thing" that others in the list may like to mention. -- Jay -----Original Message----- From: Angel Stewart [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: 29 December 2004 16:08 To: CF-Community Subject: RE: Got a PS2 SlimLine for my Biiirthddaaayyy ^_^ I agree that the Xbox is Superior, but so far PS2 has gametypes which aren't available on any other system. It's Japanese RPG games are without peer on any other console system. Shadow Heart:Covenant is a great RPG, with a turn-based style that is sorely lacking on other system, but is quite popular worldwide. The only game with a similar mechanic on the Xbox is Gladius. Similarly with the 'lite' Combat Flight Sims such as Ace Combat 5, which is another excellent title without peer on the Xbox. No one can deny that the RPG gamespace is huge, and Xbox fell far short with Sudeki. Similarly the Final Fantasy series is excellent. Having just gotten the PS2 and after using the Xbox for some time, I must say that the PS2 controller feels a lot better than the Xbox controller. PS2 has it's merits, and has it's games. Some PS2 Exclusive titles which are excellent are: Gran Turismo series, without peer Final Fantasy Series, without peer. Any of several RPGs. New and innovative titles such as Katamari Damacy or Culdcept which have both won critical acclaim, and are both without peer on the Xbox. Metal Gear Solid series, again without peer on the Xbox. La Pucelle, Ico, two other great titles that took risks and won much acclaim for their gameplay and style. Jak 3, without peer. Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal, without peer. Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne another RPG that is without Peer. Resident Evil series. Again without Peer on either Xbox or Gamecube. To turn things around, what Top rated titles beside Halo 2 are Xbox Exclusives? -Gel -----Original Message----- From: James Smith [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Oooooooh, touch. But I have a hard time believing there are that many PS2 games you cant get on Xbox. Ok, there are the eye-toy collection if you are under 10 (or drunk ;-), San Andreas if you can't wait for the Xbox vertion later this year, but that is about it. Pro Evo is now on Xbox, even the nintendo exclusives (Super Monkey Ball) are starting to port across but only to the Xbox. Don't misunderstand me, I hate Microsoft as much as the next guy but the Xbox is far superior, if you like FPS games then HALO 2 and Doom 3 are both Xbox exclusive, if you like driving games then Forza Motorsport uses 3 times more polygons for the cars that GT4, in fact it uses more for the tarmac than GT4 does on it's cars. Sorry, but Xbox rules, Sony sucks. The original play station was without doubt the best console available at the time and Sony have been trading on that success ever since without releasing a single bit of hardware worthy of the reputation. -- Jay ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Special thanks to the CF Community Suite Gold Sponsor - CFHosting.net http://www.cfhosting.net Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:141152 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
