We did it ourselves. It was treated as very routine, even though my
visa had expired when we applied. Come to think of it though, it may
have expired after we were married, which may have made a diffrence.
And this was a while ago.

There is an interview, is the main thing I can think of that you might
not be expecting. As far as I can recall the main pupose seemed to be
making sure that this was a real marriage, and the interviewer was
very cordial.
