This is purely rhetorical, but how much do you have saved and how old
are you?  If you're 30 - 35 you should have at least $100,000 IMO and
that's cash money; not pension or home equity.

I'll never argue that gov't should handle your money, but social
security is for "unsophisticated" investors.  Based on US savings
rates that's 80% + of the population!

So it would seem that, yes, the gov't saves for retirement better than
80% of the US population.
