First, that was mandatory insurance in CT, not MA. Which I couldn't afford, so I rode my bike to work for 2.5 years. 8.6 miles each way, each day. 6 miles each way to the grocery store once per week. Riding 10 miles a day in weather like this SUCKED.
Before the age of thirty, if I saved 100% of my take home pay, it would have been about $1700/month. Not a lot of room there for saving $1200/month, even living with my parents. As for the 21K car, you need to factor in interest rates, which at the time were about 10% for car loans. so the $3000/year would have bought you a $15K POS, and plenty of interest paid to the bank. And $1167 is the average. PS 3000 / yaer for 7 years means you get a 21K car. A 21K car, I've been told, is substantially better then a 15K POS. I accidentally used 5 because that is the life of most car loans. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Stay Ahead of Hackers - Download ZoneAlarm Pro http://www.houseoffusion.com/banners/view.cfm?bannerid=65 Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:143280 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
