In mergers, everything cannot be magically switched over instantly. Many of Microsoft's flagship web properties don't use Microsoft technologies. Not to mention that this website actually looks like it belongs to the event company managing the events. IMHO, selecting an event planning company solely on what technology they use on their website would be a far worse decision.
