Subject: Rechargable Batteries.

I do not want to start a Ni-Cd VS Ni-MH holy war, but is there a better
rechargeable battery verses others?

I have a MP3 player headphones set, and it really burns through the amps or is
it volts? Anyway since it runs on a single AAA battery, it only has about 10
hours life per battery. Since I listen to my player every day, my battery
habit was getting rather expensive so I bought a recharger and 4 AAA Ni-MH
rechargeable batteries.

After several weeks of use, I am beginning to notice a deterioration of
lifespan after each charging for my set of batteries. I realize that the
working life of a rechargeable battery is not infinite, but since they cost
several times the cost of a standard battery I would like to get to maximum
benefit out of each one.

Thus, my question, is one brand and/or type of rechargable battery better then
another? I have little idea of what qualities might make one kind better then
another? Does it matter?
