Magnets... VERY BIG ELECTRO-MAGNETS... That will do it! Then take the platter out and burn it... It should remove any special coatings on the platter so data retention should be nil...
You could also drill holes in the platter, or maybe an angle grinder to chop it into tiny pieces... Did you want to reuse the drive?
