Here is what always works for me: Find the piece of data that means the most to 
you in the world, and copy it to the hard drive. Then start deleting all other 
copies of the data. The very moment the data is only on that one hard drive, I 
guarantee the hard drive will explode in an unrecoverable ball of fire.

So in your case, erase your mirror drive. Once it is gone, I can assure you 
nothing useful will be recoverable from the old drive.
