Around here they usually phrase it "I better not see you _______
again." So I take it to mean that the particular cop usually patrols a
given area. The one that took the report on my stolen Jeep was the
same one that wrote me a ticket for parking a car with expired tags on
the street. So that fits. Mind you, my experience is limited to being
pulled over for no headlights and being let go when she found out I
wasn't drunk, just a bit absent-minded :P
