I think Iraq has proved to us that there are no more superpowers. I think this term is associated with a country that can kill any enemies while surviving itself. I think what we've discovered is that America barely has the capacity to control a country the size of California. That's a power that's not super. Sure we could nuke people, but many countries can do that so that's not unique to the US and, if we did, we'd ensure our own destruction if only by economics. I would say that, at most, America is one of a few economic Superpowers, the new definition of a Superpower. That is, we could economically destroy many countries and still easily survive ourselves. However we share that power with the EU, China, and Japan. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Purchase Contribute 3 from House of Fusion, a Macromedia Authorized Affiliate and support the CF community. http://www.houseoffusion.com/banners/view.cfm?bannerid=53 Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:147295 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
