> i need some of your help on washer & dryer choices.

My first washer and dryer set I inherited from my parents. 25 year old
Maytag equipment. Lasted another 5 years on the washer, 4 on the
dryer.

My parents replaced their old Maytags with new Maytags and I can
assure they don't make'em like they used to. They now own Whirlpools
(on my recommendation)

I own Whirlpools (the low-end KitchenAid brand) and love the washer
and dryer we have, both ran about $350 and have not needed any repairs
in the last ~4+ years (knock wood!!).

I recommend Whirlpool. Or, if you really must pay 600+ for a washer or
dryer, KitchenAid.

YMMV :-) HTH and good luck!
