Believe me, I've already done the research. CWS shredder stopped being updated in December, when the guy gave up. It doesn't think I have it on the system (I clearly do). AdAarea and Spybot both find it and say they've cleaned it, but if you just run it again right away, it's still there. This one happens to be next to impossible to remove. Thus, the *sigh*
I'm thinking of getting a second harddrive, though. I don't really have a good back up mechanism right now. So, a second hard drive would be a good thing. Then, I can take this one out and do a fresh install, and then slave it back in and draw stuff over....though I have to research some more and find out if the nasties can jump from a slaved drive to the master....
