The scarey part is the number of people, mainly republicans, who genuinely believe that the Constitution and the legal code are based on the Bible. These people are about the same as the Taliban. For instance here in Virginia, one legistlator attempted to have an amendment passed that would effectively eliminate the separation of church and state:
