The wife and I are looking at houses too. Operative word being 'looking'. Housing prices in the greater Chicagoland area are very expensive. My wife told me today that she over heard two ladies talking at the store saying "I mean the house is only 300k, but the taxes are astronomical!" 300k!!!! You can't get a decent 3bd 2 bath in a nice neighborhood for less than 225K here. We were better off in Hawai'i. That's why we're starting to look elsewhere.
