I can see that being a definite option originally, but now?

I mean this thing has been in state court battles since 1997 or so and
he's not let up from his position once. As I heard today her parents
have offered to take care of her, completely independent of him, and
fund it with donations. I'd bet they've also offered to pay him off.

If he really just wanted to get on with his life wouldn't he have just
quit the whole mess years ago? I know the standard answer is that he
wants the $1,000,000 but it just seems like this has gone on waaayyyy
to long and has made him way to public for that to be his only motive.
Also I wonder who's paying for all of his legal bills.
