I saw the Bunnymen at the Agora in Hartford, CT. Post Ocean Rain, so 1984 or
85. Ian never so much as moved, except to puff his cigarette. The rest of the
time he clung to the mic stand.

Good stuff anyway.

On the same stage I saw Husker Du. Can't remember if it was the same night or
not, though. Someone through a plastic beer cup onto the stage, and the drummer
stopped playing in protest. The rest of the band tried to get him going again,
but he refused. So they played the rest of the set without drums.

And surprisingly, John Doe from X took my ticket at the door that night. I
never have quite figured that one out.

Back in the early to mid-eighties I saw Echo & The Bunnymen and REM in
a 200 person venue. At that time not many people had heard of them -
I think it was during the "Wolves, Lower" REM stuff and Echo had "Do
It Clean" maybe.

Anyway, Ian McCullough (sp?) got so drunk he fell off of the stage in
the middle of a song. The band stopped playing for about 5 seconds
and then Ian started singing from the floor and the band started
playing again. He finished the song from the floor and after the
crowd went wild when he got back on the stage.
