FWIW I'm not surprised that someone (not necessarily you) felt this way in response to his last post... I suspect if has more to do with wording than intent, although the description of "jousting" on the list does kind of sit the same way with me. Although in my case I just wrote it off as someone I don't really know having a chip on his shoulder about his perception of what amounts to typical mailing list traffic (not just for this list, but lists in general). There are times that I realize I'm spending too much time on email -- been happening a lot lately -- though for my part when I notice this, I acknowledge that it's no-ones fault save my own for not having the restraint to avoid replying when I want to or not keeping my replies short, as I tend to be rather gregarious in general.
