nono, it's a production plant. Modern pit facility is what they are calling it. That much is public knowledge. There was talk of having it in Amarillo or at the Savannah River Facility (and a couple more I think) and decided on New Mexico because of WIPP.
They don't need a storage facilty. They do that right here in Albuquerque, another fact that never makes the newspaper here. That's not for national security reasons though -- the publisher is just a government apologist who doesn't consider such things news.
