I'm lost. You said the SMART is now used because the old system was
not reliable. But now you're saying that SMART isn't necessary because
of the old system.
Only one judge ruled her PVS and it was based on the three doctors I
mentioned and not one spent more than an hour with her. He decided
that once the court (he) declared her PVS, it was never to be
discussed again.

So back to the original article you posted: "The vegetative state
needs considerable skill to diagnose, requiring assessment over a
period of time; diagnosis cannot be made, even by the most experienced
clinician, from a bedside assessment."

So make a choice, use this article or denounce it but don't do both.
