My cynical personal view of the current administration makes me think this is exactly what they wanted. They get all the publicity of "supporting" this cause, knowing full well that it will be shut down by others. I feel the support of marriage constitutional amendment was the same. They supported it, knowing it had no real chance of ever happening.
