I have the creative zen micro, I think the 5GB one.  So far it has
gotten the job done.  I really do not believe it has 12 hours of play
time though.  Reason I say that is by the end of the work day after
maybe 7 hours of playing at the lowest volume level, my battery meter
either is down to one bar or no bar at all.  My wife has one of the
Rios if memory is serving me right.  It stores less songs but is nice
when working out, will track how much you have walked/ran and I think
tells you calories burned and other information.
