Jeeze - I was wondering for a while if I were the only one to see it!

I may have over-exaggerated a teensy bit. Of course you may still need two
hands to count to four if you've crossed anybody in Sin City. ;^)

Still I really think insanely great - not everybody's cuppa to be sure (my
friend made the mistake of bringing his wife - she didn't enjoy it at all)
but for a certain class of people (like me) this will go up right beside
"Kill Bill" and "Pulp Fiction".

(I had a friend of ours ask, having heard that it was a "comic book movie",
if his six-year-old would enjoy it. I told him "probably not" and let him
glance through one of the comics. In the end he agreed.)

This may also stand as the most honest comic-to-film transference ever - not
that others are "bad" for taking liberties with the source for the medium,
but damn: any frame of this movie could have been taken directly from the
page.

I loved the way the film is unable to pin itself to an era.

I loved how the pulp noir language is so seriously delivered ("like a palsy
victim doing brain surgery with a lead pipe").

I loved the amazingly over the top physicality of it ("after a while I
realized I was just pounding bone fragments into the floor").

I loved how the narration was so clearly comic book based. I wouldn't have
felt weird seeing it subtitled in a white box in the upper corner.

I just loved it.
