My company said take a look at .NET. I did. I found quite a few things about it that I really liked. I used it for some specific projects that it performed VERY well. Should I have refused to use it just because it was Microsoft? Why fear Microsoft products? Do some research, approach it objectively, even a bit skeptically, as you would any product. If you find that a product fulfills a valuable need....use it.
