We used chains to suspend beds from the ceiling in college. Greatly increased
floor space in the dorm. Our usual enhanced state was augmented by someone
pushing the bed to cause it to swing adding to our already unstable sensation.
I've a distinct memory of a Jimi Hendrix poster on the ceiling about 12" from
my nose. (no it was not a black light poster, those cost too much)

I confirm nor deny nothing. However, most frames are adjustable in
width. Usually, the length is not adjustable unless you get some
more-expensive frames. (I think.)

There are other options:
* Lay the mattress on the floor. If in KY, place a tarp over the dirt
floor first.
* Milk crates are easily found beind the local Piggly Wiggly's.
* Sheets of plywood in 3/4" thicknesses. For you Ukers, that would be
19.1 mm.
* Suspend the bed via cables strung from the ceiling. If you rig some
block and tackle, you can raise the bed to give an unobstructed view of
the brass stripper pole.

Subject: IKEA question

Any IKEA addicts out there?

We're thinking of buying a bed, but I've heard rumors that the bedframes
aren't sized to fit US mattresses. We have a full (double) mattress
that we want to keep, but to fit into a new bedframe. I know that the
metric sizing used to definitely be the case, but I feel that this may
have changed recently.

Can anyone confirm or deny these rumors?

Thanks!
Robyn
