I used to have the "Basic Cable" but Comcast told us it was discontinued and made us move up to regular cable.

Plus, the few companies we've got it from don't bother to filter much out so you get some of the regular channels for free. For example we have Comcast now and pay $10 for local channels only but we get MSNBC, ESPN, MTV, TBS, WGN, WE, BET, Outdoor Network, Game Show channel, and, maybe a few others I can't think of. Anyway we had to argue with them and talk to a manager before we got it, but now we have it.
