Not everybody chooses to live far away from work. Around here it is
difficult to find a place to live near where the jobs are.

And the areas that are closer to where people work are often much more
expensive.

Yes it is a choice, do I either go to far into debt to live close to work,
or do I save money on the house and spend a little more on gas.

You make it sound like it is so easy. Imagine a middle class family with two
kids, and two working parents. The kids go to public school, but go to day
care until one of the parents gets off work.

These are normal day-to-day things that can't be done by choosing to ride a
bike. I can't leave work, pick up the kids and stop off at the store to get
the food for tonight on a bike.

Now, yes they chose to have kids, and yes they chose to work, but I think
everybody here knows you can't always choose who you are going to work for.

To assume that everybody has the same options you do just isn't right.
