I'm about to purchase a new home desktop, which I would like to use for typical home use, multimedia, coding, gaming (all the geeky stuff). After building a handful of custom Frankenstein boxes, I'm just thinking about getting a Dell. I might get a Dimension or maybe even one of the Dimension XPS machines.
I've had good experience will Dell laptops, but never have bought a desktop from them. Anything I should know? Should I get an LCD monitor from them or buy elsewhere? It's been a couple of years since I did my homework on the latest/greatest hardware, so any suggestions are most welcome. I'm also wondering if Windows Media Center is worth a go.
