Especially given that the law states (as I understand it in most
places) that the restriction is per transaction... Okay... stand in
line, purchase pills, return to isle, stand in line purchase pills,
return to isle... frustrating, but certainly doesn't prevent a person
from doing exactly what it's designed to prevent. My experience was
that the limit was on the amount of ... I think it was acetominophen
per purchase, so I could actually buy a couple boxes of different
things in each transaction, but the manager was rational enough to not
make me stand in line, he just had the cashier ring up 2 transactions.
I was of course, purchasing meds for Tiff who was sick with the flu at
the time and wanting to get several different kinds so she would have
whatever she wanted. It's a great example of "good intentions" (I have
my own opinions about the "goodness" of those intentions) leading to
people doing something horrendously stupid in order to prevent the
unusual exception in an attempt to protect people from _themselves_.
