I just get annoyed when I see what I think is a good idea, gone bad. ACLU - A group whose sole purpose is to defend the Bill of Rights and personal liberties? Man, sign me up! Sounds great! PETA - A group whose sole purpose is to ensure the proper treatment of animals? Awesome! Sign me up. NRA - A group whose sole purpose is to ensure that law abiding people can safely own guns? Awesome! I'm there.
All great ideas who've become lost in ideologies, frivolous lawsuits....and sometimes mindless violence. I agree that the religion "creep" is disconcerting to us secularists.
