I live about 15 minutes from where I work (in non-rush hour!), I'm not sure how many miles(6, 7?). It takes about 45 minutes by bus now. It used to take about 2 and 1/2 hours by public transit before they started the direct bus. Certainly not a great commute.

Took him over three hours to get to work, and he only lived 18 miles away in Leeds. That reminds me, Dan say hi to Paul for me. Think about it, think how many routes there are to get to work if you have a car. You take the quickest. Public transport doesn't that's why its secretly called anti-public transport. jmc . -----Original Message----- From: Daniel Lancelot [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Wednesday, November 21, 2001 3:42 PM To: CF-Community Subject: RE: *** Snoopy Dance *** What part of England? Round London - yeah its great - but if you want to see the best bits of Yorkshire, public transport will leave you sadly lacking... Some parts of the country - esp cities do have reasonable, even good public transport, but if you want to see the countryside etc - you nedd a car. -----Original Message----- From: Greenwood, Erin E. I took trains and buses all over the place. The only drawback was lugging all of the stuff around with me (I bought hardback books and a platter to add to the load!). Nothing like running for a train when you're carrying 5 tons of luggage. I'd always use the train for London to Yorkshire... unless you were coming for a few days, then a car becomes essential - as public transport is very poor... -----Original Message----- From: Philip Arnold - ASP [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: 21 November 2001 14:10 To: CF-Community Subject: RE: *** Snoopy Dance *** > If your a driving sort of girl, I'd take the car. > > Journey by car from Birmingham to Leeds is identical, > and your more comfortable in your car most of the time. > > I eventually bought a diesel car and did the journey by car, > found it cheaper as well. The problem with this is that we're south London, so if we want to travel north, we either fight our way through the city, or hit the M25 and sit in those queues... Then again, Croydon is fantastic for train travel as we're 15 mins from the center of London...
