The spoilers continue below...

I agree 100%. Trek finales tend to fizzle (the exception being STTNG
which was the best finale in trek history IMHO). This one was no exception.

I thought that the fact that they turned the last Enterprise episode
into a subplot of an existing STTNG episode ("The Pegasus", I believe)
trivialized Enterprise. This is somewhat ironic, as this Episode was
about the birth of the Federation (no big deal, right?).

I thought Jonathan Frakes and Marina Sirtis are getting a little long in
the tooth to play their old characters (especially for a flashback to an
early STTNG season). Watching them hash their lines out... they just
seemed... tired. At least the holodeck approach was a more creative way
of tieing the crossover in. At least the writers didn't take the "oh,
he's the great great grandfather of..." approach.

Trip got taken out like a punk. This was totally lame, not unlike
Generations where Kirk died by falling off a rock. It was also
unbelievable, as the Enterprise usually carries some well-trained
marines with them (that were seen in this episode). His death was
probably meant to garner some emotional leverage in the final moments of
the series. That's just poor writing.

The whole sexual tension between Trip and T'Pol apparently just puttered
out. And you thought House was frustrating?

And finally in the end... The speech... Archer is ready... This is the
one remembered in schools... and... "Computer, end program". Bullocks!

Alltogether, I thought Enterprise had a great cast with poor writing.
Part of this may be due that the whole Star Trek franchise is just
running out of gas.

Anyway, my 0.02 :-)
