It's a 300M Special. We have about 1.5 years left on the lease. We
misplace the lease, but we are looking for it. If we can't find it,
we'll get a copy from the dealer.

We didn't have a down payment at the time, so that increased the payment
as well. Plus, it was a four-year lease rather than five-year. (Thank
goodness we didn't drag this out another year.)

I think I may call, ask for a manager, and see if we can defer about 3-4
months of payments to get a buffer built back up. We would still need
to pay 3-4 months of payments after we return the car, but that would be
much better now.

We actually love the car (not as much as the vette), but it's our
albatross right now. It is causing too much pain to be worth keeping.
Now, it's sitting there unlicensed and uninsured and covered with dust.

Thanks for any suggestions you could find.

What type of Chrysler? That's a big payment. I'll check around, but
the first thing I would do is try leaseswap.com. Unfortunately from the
sounds of your payment it seems like you maybe didn't get that great of
deal so it might be hard for you to find someone to assume the lease.
Do you remember your numbers such as residual percentage, money factor,
etc?

There's ways to get by this and I know people that've done it. Let me
ask around ...
