There is a guy in my networking class that tells a similar story, worked at Fedex, was National Guard, got sent to Iraq, job was gone when he got back. But hey, I am sure his ex-manager had a yellow ribbon on the back of his SUV. In his case he was union and the Teamsters stepped in for him. I am no expert on the CF market in Dc, but seems worth sending out some resumes. If you are able financially you may want to just take a break.
