No - unfortunately I never got around to that one. The last coupla years of
the PSX was the first coupla years of fatherhood. ;^)

But it does bring up the point that Sony has some huge potential for
"classics" collections. On one dual-layer DVD you could fit at least 10 CD
games (and nearly 100 on a dual-layer Blue Ray disc!)

It's a niche market, but cheap to do - almost pure profit.

I'd immediately buy a single disc with all of the PSX "Final Fantasy" games
for example.

What about a "Silent Hill" collection for PS3 that tie all the PSX and PS2
games together with additional material (story lines and character bios,
developer commentary, etc)?

There were a lot of great puzzle games on PSX. "Tetris Worlds",
"Intelligent Cube", etc - how about a collection of those?

Although I'm not at all impressed with what I've seen of the Revolution so
far I'll still be getting one just to get access to the (promised) library
of old Nintendo games.

I also think that games like "Grand Theft Auto" should start working with
other properties like they do with their music. It's neat that I can play a
video game in the game: but why does it have to suck? Why can't I play
classic Atari 2600 games? "Shenmue" got this so right (you could play
"Space Harrier" and some other actual Sega games in the arcades - very
cool).

I should be able to turn on the TV and watch actual TV shows (which
commercials, of course) just as I can change radio stations. Heck, I should
be able to rent old movies (which might appear in a small window) and watch
them while I'm running around.

Once we've got the size of Blue Ray all of this is possible.
