That's only partly true.  Alcohol abuse isn't necessarily "more damaging 
physically" than marijuana. Long, sustained abuse of alcohol destroys the 
liver. Long, sustained abuse of marijuana destroys the lungs. Niether one is 
good for you.

It is most certainly true, however, that MJ is much less addictive than 
alcohol and caffeine. (Its not chemically addictive at ALL 
actually...."habit forming" vs. "addictive")

Marijuana's medical benefits are negligible. They may alleviate some 
symptoms in some people, but generally those are people who were smoking pot 
for fun anyway. In the VAST majority of cases, other drugs are far superior 
to marijuana.

I'm all for loosening the pot laws...i just don't think it's "medicinal 
value" is a very good argument, across the board. Loosen the laws, though, 
and for those few where MJ does have medical benefits, they can puff away in 
peace with the rest of us...
