You've hit on the real salient point: how does an interstate commerce
ruling here affect other commerce rulings?

For example, the same commerce principle underpins all kinds of
federal jurisdiction rulings in such areas as worker protections,
federal environmental law, racial discrimination, et. al.

The question is, how powerful should we allow the federal gov't to be
in regulating "interstate commerce"?  Too broad and congress controls
everything, too narrow and they control nothing.
