You don't have nuns for one thing. Most of the E/A private schools are like 
good secular private schools. The emphasis is on excellent teaching, with a 
small religious component.

As for home schooling, I have not had a lot of good impressions of home 
schooling. When I was teaching intro to psych, the home schoolers I ran across 
were dogmatic, responded entirely by rote and rarely displayed initiative,much 
creativity or independent thought. They expected to be told what was gospel and 
that was it, no thinking beyond that. Mind you these intro students were all 
from fundimentalist backgrounds so that may have had something to do with their 
attitudes.
