Try channel 6 instead.  On mine, the default is 6 because I'm sure I
haven't changed it.

I think Radio Shack has a WAP sniffer/keyfob you might try.  It should
show you what the WAP is broadcasting and it might be helpful.

It would also be fun for war-driving around your neighborhood.

This router does not have a place for a pass phrase. You actually have
to 
enter your own keys. My inlaws wireless network uses a pass phrase.
Funny 
thing, I set their network up fine with WEP enabled and everything works

fine. I go home and, well, it's a little less than successful.

I have noticed that the admin page for the router has a place for 
"channels". I have always left this on the default of 7 since I do not
see 
anything similar on the laptop.
