It's insensitive precisely because her parents disagreed. It's not 
insensitive towards your wife, but it is towards her surviving family. I 
know the word can have a loose definition and liberal interpretations, but 
generally speaking, do you think that Michael Schiavo was sensitive to the 
feelings of Terri's surviving family when he chose that inscription? At the 
VERY least, he was acting with disregard to her family....but i don't see 
how you can say he was being sensitive to their feelings.

You are right. I'm of the opinion that the inscription is most certainly 
insensitive toward her parents feelings, but I don't think it is insulting 
in the least. But then, i've agreed with Michael's arguments throughout this 
mess.

Michael owed Terri's parents nothing, zip, zilch, after the way they 
slandered him. So his actions aren't necessarily suprising, and could even 
be considered tempered in comparison. Does he have every right to act 
insensitively toward her parents? I'd say yes. Can you still wish that he 
would restrain from doing so? I don't see why not.
