I'm told the technique really makes the difference on this drink, so here goes...
Wash the lime (no soap, please! haha) and roll it on the board to loosen the juices and bruise the zest a little. Cut the lime into wedges and place them in a glass, pulp side up. Sprinkle one tablespoon of sugar on the lime and then gently crush it into the flesh using a pestle. Pour two ounces of Cachaca over the fruit and stir to mix. Add crushed ice and stir again to chill thoroughly. Now raise your glass and say, "This one's for Erika!" and enjoy. So good, aparently, you'll want to plotz. I will hopefully find out tonight. I'm going to see if Caipirinhas are a good substitute for ColdFusion Studio's debugger. ;) BTW, "Caipirinha" means "Little peasant girl," so if you make this drink with Vodka, it becomes a "Caipiroshka," eh? Thank heaven for little girls... Back to CommerceBlocks 3... I am always up to trying new drinks. How else will I know if I like it or not, so I will pickup some Cachaca and make it if you can tell me how much should go into it. Per say... ounce of this, ounce of that. ... -----Original Message----- From: Adam Phillip Churvis [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Wednesday, November 28, 2001 10:49 AM To: CF-Community Subject: RE: Mixed Drinks WAS RE: Wahhhh Have any of you tried a Caipirinha? It's kind of a Brazilian Gimlet, and it's made with a segmented lime that's had its pulp lightly crushed with a tablespoon of sugar, then two ounces of Cachaca (the last "c" has a French "swa" on it), which is a Brazilian sugarcane liquor. The whole thing is served ice cold over crushed ice. They say this is a truly delicious drink, and until recently it's been a well-kept Brazilian secret. I haven't had time to go out and get some Cachaca just yet because my car got totalled a couple of weeks ago (*sniff!*), so I was wondering if any of you happy smiling people have ever tried one. A Caipirinha is about as close to Rio de Janiero as I'm going to get for a long, long time! :( Respectfully, Adam Phillip Churvis Certified Advanced ColdFusion 5 Developer Productivity Enhancement, Inc. http://www.ColdFusionTraining.com E-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Phone: 770-446-8866 -----Original Message----- From: Adkins, Randy [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Wednesday, November 28, 2001 9:39 AM To: CF-Community Subject: Mixed Drinks WAS RE: Wahhhh have you tried Tom Collins? It is a Gin drink. Uses 2 ounces of Gin with Club soda and Sweet & Sour Mix or you can get the Tom Collins mix which is better than mixing it yourself. -----Original Message----- From: Larry Lyons [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Wednesday, November 28, 2001 9:29 AM To: CF-Community Subject: RE: Wahhhh Martini's no thanks.
