Actually I'm both. My mother was born in Scotland but grew up in
Yorkshire. I was in a pipe band from 18 to 18 - at one point nearly
killed myself trying to develop the electric bagpipes.

Actually  our pipeband was a pretty tough group. We'd be in full
uniform and practice marching outdoors in the middle of a Manitoba
winter when it was 20 below. One thing, the tradition of not wearing
underwear under your kilt - that stops when the temperature goes below
freezing - for obvious reasons.
