I'm a mod on our freecycle group, too. We've got about 3500 members and get between 100 and 300 messages a day. It's interesting to see what gets everyone's undies in a bunch around here. Man, some people are uptight!
But, mostly it's a pretty easy job. I don't want to be promoted to owner, though. I'm not as...um....diplomatic as I would need to be to be an owner. I've already thoroughly pissed one person off for reminding her not to reply to the whole list. Apparently, I was completely degrading by saying, "Please remember to reply only to the poster, and not to the whole list."
