Unless your wife ends up having a c-section - there's a whole lot of time in the labor/delivery room that doesn't involve massive blood loss. (There's no difference between labor and delivery rooms around here, so YMMV.) And, it's not like you have to look at it, you know. You could be at the head of the bed holding her hand while she delivers and I'd imagine the view would be relatively sanitary.
