Jennifer You weren't around for the previous brouhaha, so let me take this from the top. The comment about such a nice guy was meant generally, and is quite true. People do not want to believe that someone they know and like does this. How does this comment then become libel? If you want to discuss Judge Greer, we can do that, but please don't spout political correctness at me.
Just to clear away some of that, I believe that if you actually look at court documents as opposed to uncritically accepting what was reported you will find that: 1) it was one judge 2) it is not every doctor who ever examined her As for my personal experience with the issue, yes, I have some, both as participant and witness. But that is irrelevant. As is the remark about religious beliefs. There is genuine room for concern in this case, as viewed coldly and dispassionately. It opens the door to deciding that some lives are more valuable than others. It may well be that Terri Schiavo died as she would have wished. Personally, I don't think so.
