I remember enjoying Mort especially and thinking that the plot for Soul Music was a spectacular idea, although I never got around to reading it... One of the passages which stuck with me most from Mort was the passage about the religion of listeners who believed that if you listened long enough and attentively enough that with the right accoustics you could hear god. The religion which would only accept you as a member if blindfolded you could tell the amount, side (heads/tails) and _color_ of a coin dropped 50ft away. So they built their monastery at the top of the mountain with the best accoustics in Discworld, which could only be approached by a gruellying weeks long journey through its valley below, one of the most treacherous places in the world. After weeks of hiking through swamps and hills, fighting off all manner of man-eating beasts, you would reach the steps of the monastery where one of the priests would yell "stop making all that noise!" s. isaac dealey 954.522.6080 new epoch : isn't it time for a change? add features without fixtures with the onTap open source framework http://www.fusiontap.com http://coldfusion.sys-con.com/author/4806Dealey.htm ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Find out how CFTicket can increase your company's customer support efficiency by 100% http://www.houseoffusion.com/banners/view.cfm?bannerid=49 Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:164120 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
