The press is NOT the publicity agent of the Whitehouse.  Why would you
think it is?

The reason for freedom of the press is to question the federal gov't. 
If the President feels he's not getting a fair shake in the "media"
then he's got oodles of resources to combat that.  The press exists to
ensure our freedom; to ensure that wrongdoing by the federal gov't is
exposed.

I want my media to challenge, question, and criticize the federal
gov't as much as is possible.  That anyone would critcize the press as
not being friendly enough to the federal gov't is just plain scary.  I
think the press is far too gentle to President which is why I choose
sources that are not.
