Unfortunately, VNC is not an option for this client.
The client is not at all computer savvy. So I am trying
to keep it as simple as possible.

Just to spin a tangent at you: do you NEED a switch or would remote control
software do you?

Since I'm all Windows here I use the built in Desktop sharing and it works
wonders - I don't use a KVM at all any more (and in getting rid of it I've
also eliminated several dozen feet of extra cables and improved my monitor
output since I can used Dual DVI now).

There is remote control software that works cross-platform (I think VNC does
and I thought, but may be wrong, that there's a PC Anywhere for the Mac).

There may be problems... but I've never seen them. One potential problem is
that wireless receivers get power from the keyboard port. Some switches
only get power when the keyboards are on and this can cause weirdness when
booting (you might get a "no keyboard" error at first).

In the one case that this was happening I just disabled the keyboard check
in the BIOS and everything was fine. I've never had such problems with
powered KVMs like the Cybex models.

With a Ma/PC pairing I think there could be problems with key mappings
depending on if you're using an Apple keyboard with Windows or vice versa
(for example the "Apple Key" and "Windows Key") but all the Logitech
keyboards I've gotten recently have the Apple symbols on the "Alt" keys
which indicates to me that they're compatible.
