Thanks Jim.

As I said before, I'm a programmer, not a designer. This is Rev 1 of the site
and I will be working on Rev 2 soon. It looks like I will be pulled into more
design work in the future as we are not replacing graphic artists at work so I
need this kind of feedback.

As my total budget for the site was a wopping $0.00 as was guessed before, I
did what I could with what I had. If they can be found, I will try to get some
high quality proofs of the crest scanned at the meeting tonight. I'll be
dragging my laptop and a scanner to the hall.

My preference on the menu is the section name separated by a thin black or dark
gray line. I'll try that for tonight, if I have time. Otherwise it will go
into the next show and tell in November.

I will be adding depth to the site shortly. When the active unit returns home
later this year I will be adding a great deal of content in support of the
Library of Congress Veterans' History Project (http://www.loc.gov/vets/). I
will also be adding more content on the unit and organization history and the
associated reenactment group. The active unit, the veterans' group and the
reenactors form a trioka to try to keep the heritage of the Washington
Artillery respected.

Because of that, I'll be adding third and fourth level pages below some of the
sections soon. I like your idea with the breadcrumbs. I'm going to move them
to above the content and not next to the curve. I do find that whitespace
makes a page more readable. I'll also remove the current page. I have had
long debates with the EATEL designers who worked on the last site I implemented
on that very thing. Since I have some validation to my opinion, I'm going to
roll with it.

I'll work on the content. This was just slapped together with a short fuse. I
tried to give it as much thought as possible, but I did miss a number of design
considerations. Thanks for pointing them out.

Russel

I do appreciate that comment. But I do want to go beyond adequate. I won't
win a Webby, but I do want to do the best I can.
