He would if I asked (we live on the third floor, he lives on the second - so
this is both his house and his home).

But we're getting such a good deal on rent here (nearly half what other
apartments in this area go for) that I'd rather not have him spend the
money.

He's a sweetheart of a guy, really.  Doesn't speak English very well either
tho' - so I'm also dreading asking persmission.  ;^)
