Dana, The cops on the Metro aren't DC Police their WMATA Transit Cops, their entire jurisdiction is the Metro Stations, across DC, Maryland and Virginia, they can't do anything about crime anywhere else, except to call in the jurisdictional police. This could've happened anywhere in the system.
As far as I know the only other police force that has any jurisdiction within the metro system are the MP's and DSA cops in and around the Pentagon. sas Scott A.
